West Coast has delisted premiership defender Lewis Jetta as it continues to reshape its squad ahead of the 2021 AFL season.

The 31-year-old Jetta, who won premierships with the Eagles (2018) and Sydney (2012), played only six senior matches in 2020.

“It is always a very difficult time of the year that has been made more complex this year due to the uncertainties around AFL list sizes,” Eagles football general manager Craig Vozzo said.

“Unfortunately, we are not in a position to offer Lewis an opportunity beyond this year.”

Jetta has played 202 senior matches during his career, including 75 with the Eagles.

He joined the club in 2016 after six seasons with the Swans.

Jetta played a pivotal role in defence during West Coast’s grand final victory over Collingwood in 2018, the same season he was awarded the Chris Mainwaring Medal as the Eagles’ best clubman.

He is the sixth player delisted by the Eagles since their 2020 season came to an end courtesy of a narrow loss to Collingwood in the opening week of the finals.

The club also decided not to offer contracts to Hamish Brayshaw, Mitch O’Neaill, Nic Reid, Anthony Treacy and Francis Watson.

The Eagles traded ruckman Tom Hickey to the Swans during the recent AFL trade period, while they recruited young defender Alex Witherden from the Brisbane Lions and forward Zac Langdon from Greater Western Sydney.
