Say goodbye to the warm temperatures and hello to something that looks a heck of a lot like winter.

Environment Canada has issued a weather alert calling for between 15 and 20 centimetres of snow in the national capital region starting Sunday afternoon.

The snowfall is expected to taper off Monday morning, the advisory added.

“This is a result of a Colorado Low that will track from Ohio towards the St. Lawrence River Sunday into Monday,” it said.

The forecast for Monday includes cloudy skies with a 60 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries and a high of 2 C. The expected low will be -11 C.

Tuesday’s forecast is sunny with a high temperature of -4 C and a low of -7 C.

There’s also a 60 per cent chance of flurries Wednesday and Thursday with highs of 2 C and 3 C.
