Tracy Beaker fans ‘don’t care’ if they’re adults as they vow to watch new CBBC show
Tracy Beaker is making a return to screens this week 20 years after it first aired. Feel old yet?
The iconic CBBC show was adapted from Jacqueline Wilson’s 1991 book The Story of Tracy Beaker and starred Dani Harmer in the lead role.
Fans will remember the series revolved around Tracy who lives at a care home referred to as ‘The Dumping Ground’ and sees her rule-breaking stunts disrupt her time in care.
But the upcoming reboot, titled My Mum Tracy Beaker, will see Dani reprise her role as Tracy, who now has an 11-year-old daughter named Jess.
CBBC released the first trailer on Tuesday afternoon of the three-part series and fans, even though decades older, can’t wait to tune in.
“I am a fully grown adult But 5pm Friday I am putting Tracy Beaker on and I’m very excited for it,” wrote one.
Another vowed: “I don’t care if I’m grown. I’m watching this.”
“30 year old and I’ve just put this on series record. I bloody loved Tracy beaker as a kid,” a third added.
Another said: “Yah I might be turning 21 in a couple of months time, but if you think for a second that I won’t be watching #TracyBeaker on Friday, You’ll be Wrong!”
The 30-second teaser has brought back all the nostalgic feels as Tracy comes face-to-face with Justine Littlewood.
Actress Montanna Thompson, 32, has reprised the role for the upcoming series and hasn’t changed a bit.
My Mum Tracy Beaker starts this Friday (February 12) at 5pm on CBBC.
