Third person dies after devastating head-on collision in Mississauga
A third person has died following a head-on collision in Mississauga last week.
Peel Regional Police say the 64-year-old man died in hospital on Saturday.
He was one of five people travelling in a Mercedes Benz that collided with a Honda Civic on McLaughlin Road, at the Highway 407, last Thursday around 7 p.m.
One occupant, a 64-year-old woman, died at the scene. The Mercedes was driven by a by a 66-year-old man from Brampton and also had a 39-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man as passengers.
The Civic — driven by a 21-year-old man from Brampton — had two women passengers, aged 23 and 19. The younger woman died at the scene.
All of the other occupants of both vehicles were taken to hospital.
“On behalf of all the men and women of the Peel Regional Police we empathize with the families and friends who lost their loved ones due to this very tragic collision” Chief Nishan Duraiappah said in a statement.
The investigation continues.
