The PlayStation Hits Line-up Gets an Addition Nobody Could Have Predicted
9,000,000 Gamers Can’t Be Wrong
The PlayStation hits line-up is pretty much the cream of the crop when it comes to sales. If a game sells enough copies then it gets added to the line-up, and enjoys a healthy discount to make it more accessible to millions of gamers. Sure, not every popular game is included, and the line-up is constantly changing, but there’s some big names on there like Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last of Us: Remastered, and God of War, but the newest addition is one nobody could have expected.
Might be late on this but looks like Resident Evil 6 on PS4 got added to the “Playstation Hits” lineup.

That’s right, Resident Evil 6 – widely seen as one of the worst in the series.
Okay, to be fair, Resident Evil 6 isn’t so much a bad game as it is an unfocused one. Rather than one decently sized campaign players get four shorter ones, each with a different feel. Leon’s, for example, falls more in line with the more overtly horrific feel of earlier games compared to Chris’s more bombastic, Resident Evil 5 style action. Ada’s campaign is more focused on stealth, as befitting the spy, while newcomer Jake is constantly hounded by a BOW not unlike Nemesis. Each of the campaigns work fine on their own but by combining them into one game it feels like none of them have the space needed to tell their story, and the game never finds its feet. In short, while attempting to please everyone, Capcom managed to please nobody.
Still, the game has sold more than nine million copies, and that’s what really matters at the end of the day. Only one other game in the series – the stellar Resident Evil 7 – is also included in the PlayStation Hits Collection.
Will Resident Evil 6’s new addition bring with it new love? After all, a lot of things are considered failures and then seen in a new light year’s later, but hey; considering the negative reception may have a part to play in the direction Resident Evil 7 took, maybe we have a reason to love Resident Evil 6 already.
