Stacey Solomon’s personal reason behind wedding planning for this year and not eloping ‘like she always thought’
Stacey Solomon surprised fans when she revealed she plans to marry this year after getting engaged on Christmas Eve.
The Loose Women panelist said ‘yes’ to fellow TV presenter Joe Swash when he popped the question last month.
The couple, who share son Rex, began dating in 2015 after meeting on the I’m A Celebrity spin-off in Australia.
Stacey, 31, has revealed all on the romantic proposal which was also witnessed by her two sons, Zachary and Leighton.
But now the mum-of-three has opened up about the personal and heartbreaking reason for a 2021 wedding in response to a fan asking about the nuptials.
She admitted in a written post on her Instagram story: “I used to think I wanted to run away and elope, but after losing family members this year, I could not feel more opposite…
“One of the main reasons we’d love to get married as soon as we can is because there’s special people in our lives that will not be around forever.
“And I would do anything to share our day with them. Especially knowing already how much we will miss those that can’t be there.
“I’ve found me dream venue, we are just trying to see if the dates work and if it’s possible and I can’t wait to take you there with us when/if we are aloud.”
Stacey shared with her millions of followers last week how she had began crafting her very own wedding planner as well as starting a scrap book detailing her and her other half’s “love story”.
Using various labels, they all marked milestones in the couple’s relationship including falling in love, buying their first house and welcoming Rex to the world in 2019.
