Scooter Braun made more than a few headlines last year when he acquired Big Machine Label Group and all its recorded music assets, including the masters to Taylor Swift‘s first six albums. Now, though, he has reportedly sold off those hugely controversial masters.

Some 17 months after the purchase, Braun has sold off the Taylor Swift masters, Variety reports. According to the story, the deal closed within the last two weeks and is said to be worth more than $300 million USD.

To refresh your memory, Braun and his Ithaca Holdings LLC acquired Big Machine in 2019, when he bought its assets for $300 million. Under the deal, he scooped up the masters to Swift’s first six albums — something she wasn’t pleased with at all.

The sale even led Braun to claim he and his family had been the recipients of serious death threats as a result of Swift’s public shaming of him.

As for the rest of Braun’s Big Machine assets, it appears he’s keeping those, including recordings from Sheryl Crow, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts and Lady A.

As of this month, Swift is free to re-record all the songs from her first six albums, which she publicly said she planned to do.

As of press time, neither Swift nor Braun has publicly commented on the supposed sale of the masters.
