SEGA released Persona 5 Royal for the PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe on March 31 and the game has seen “record sales,” according to SEGA in a Q&A with investors.
SEGA did not provide exact figures for the game, but did add the ration of digital sales has “increased significantly” due to the limited availability of the physical version of the game.
“Also, in the Persona series, Persona 5 Royal began selling in the U.S. and Europe on March 31st, achieving record sales. While physical sales were restricted, the ratio of digital sales increased significantly and are remaining strong in FY21/3,” said SEGA in the Q&A session.
Persona 5 Royal did ship 400,000 units in its first month available in Japan, while the original Persona 5 shipped 3.2 million units worldwide through late last year. These figures include digital sales.
