Missing Tweed teen found injured after ATV crash, dies in hospital
A missing 16-year-old from the town of Tweed was discovered with extensive wounds early Monday and he was later pronounced dead at hospital.
The victim was discovered along an old rail bed by civilians who had been helping the Ontario Provincial Police with a search.
The teen’s injuries were sustained in a collision involving an all-terrain vehicle. He had been reported missing at 6 p.m. Sunday after going out on an ATV earlier in the day.
Central Hastings officers, the OPP Emergency Response Team, an OPP helicopter, local ATV riders and other local residents had been involved in the search.
