Letters, July 14: ‘PM really believes it’s all his money’
IT’S ON US
The prime minister has recently provided Canadians with some insight as to how he thinks. Last week, when he presented a fiscal “snapshot” that included a taxpayer-funded projected deficit of $343 billion, he explained that his government “took on debt so Canadians didn’t have to.” You see, in the prime minister’s mind, what’s ours is his, and what’s his is … well you know.
(It was a strange thing to say.)
WRITE IT OUT
All media outlets have been doing Canadians a disservice writing out the words “millions”, “billions” and “trillions”. They just become words without consequences so nobody understands the amounts involved. Time to print the number, not the words. It’s a $346,000,000,000.00 deficit and a $1,200,000,000,000.00 debt load. Unfortunately, the number is so long, it may be hyphenated in the “Letters to the Editor” and once again lose it’s effectiveness!
(Lotsa numbers, for sure.)
Marlin Schmidt, if you had a sensible boss, you would be looking for a new job today. If you were UCP, we would never hear the end of this unfortunate circumstance of you being born while Margaret Thatcher was alive, and you disgracing her. Funny, I don’t see you carrying a hammer and sickle flag. But alas! You are NDP! Nothing will happen. Rachel Notley’s office is full of crickets. Grow a pair, Rachel, be a leader for once.
(Pathetic statement and equally pathetic reaction from his boss.)
It’s time that the media stopped discriminating against “whites!” If you bother to read the various editorials and opinion columns, you will notice that Black and Indigenous nouns are capitalized whereas the whites are in the lower case. Aha, discrimination against whites again! Actually, there is no such thing as a white or Black person as they are either fair or dark skinned.
(You know this brings absolutely nothing to the legitimate conversation?)
WHAT’S HE GOT?
Justin Trudeau and WE, here’s a guy who has been involved with WE for years, accidentally becomes Liberal leader due to his last name and purports to be the leader of Canada. What is Trudeau teaching these young people when he and his family goes and blathers aimlessly on stage to these future adults? Trudeau is showing these people that it is OK to lie, cheat, steal, break laws, take things that aren’t yours as well as you don’t have to tell the truth if you’re in a place of power. He’s also teaching them that being an asinine narcissist is a good thing as well as being vapid and unproductive in the real world is enough to get by on. What are people missing about Socks Trudeau? From all of the misappropriation of monies that the Liberals are giving to their friends, to the antics of an uneducated eight-year-old on his India trip, to his violation of the ethics rules — first sitting PM ever to do so — to his groping of the female reporter. What do people see in this guy, who’s as bright as a burnt out light bulb?
(One heck of an example for Canada’s brightest and best young people, eh?)
