Golden Globes 2021: When are the awards and how can I watch the ceremony?
The 2021 Golden Globes are almost upon us as Hollywood prepares to celebrate the top films and TV shows of the past year.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony will look a little different this year. Though the Globes are typically shown in January, this year the Hollywood Foreign Press Association postponed the ceremony to air 28 February 2021.
And though the ceremony will once again take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, it is still unclear to what extent there will be in-person attendees versus pre-taped show portions.
To help you get a better idea of everything you can expect, here is everything we know ahead of the 78th Golden Globes:
The 2021 Golden Globes will take place on 28 February 2021 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT/ 1am in the UK.
In the US, the ceremony is airing on television on NBC. No TV network is broadcasting it in the UK, but The Independent will be live-blogging it throughout the evening and night.
Hosting the 90-minute preshow are actor Sofia Carson and Access Hollywood reporter Zuri Hall, broadcasting live from the Beverly Hilton alongside Rasha Goel and Scott Mantz, who are set to conduct remote interviews.
At the moment, it is unclear as to whether there will be a red carpet.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host from opposite coasts this year. While Fey broadcasts live from The Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center in New York City, Poehler will host from the Globes’ usual location inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel. It is the duo’s fourth time hosting the Golden Globes together.
