Good Morning Britain star Adil Ray praised his co-host Kate Garraway on the show on Monday, calling her “inspiring”.

Kate opened up about her husband Derek Draper’s ongoing health battle, after he was struck down with coronavirus in March.

During the latest show Kate revealed Derek still had huge challenges ahead, but she felt lucky to still have him with her.

Fans have heaped praise on the TV host for her strength and bravery over the past few months, as she’s continued her role while discussing how Derek is doing.

Speaking about Kate on Monday, he told her she was “inspirational” and would help a lot of people.

He said: “Kate as I’ve said many times you’re truly inspiring, you really are.

“Lots of families will be taking a lot of strength from you, and not just people who have been suffering with coronavirus.

“People who have suffered all kinds of grief and issues and I think you’re inspiring.”

Kate Garraway feels ‘lucky’ that her husband Derek Draper is ‘still with her’

He went on: “You say about laughing last week but it’s important at times, it can’t be just one way.

“You’ve got kids, you’ve got to have hope and you’ve got to get on with things, and Derek will want you to as well.”

Kate revealed Derek faced challenges ahead, as she and the kids hope he will wake up soon.

While Derek is out of his coma, he still has a long recovery ahead of him but Kate said she was “lucky” to still have him.

She said: “I’m worried about him and he still has lots of challenges.

“Challenges in terms of food, challenges with everything, lungs and everything, and we just want him to wake up.

“The nurses are putting this show on in the morning for him, in the hope that it might trigger something.

“It’s a waiting game but at least I am lucky that I have the chance to wait, because he is still with us.”
