Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris disabled for unknown amount of time

Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris disabled for unknown amount of time

On June 12, players discovered a bug in Destiny 2’s pinnacle multiplayer activity, Trials of Osiris. After seven wins and zero losses, players normally transport to a unique location called The Lighthouse, and get a special piece of gear as a reward for their “Flawless” run. But on Friday, Flawless players consistently hit an error code while loading in to The Lighthouse.

Bungie has since disabled Trials for the entire weekend, and the studio is investigating a fix for the bug.

According to a tweet from the Bungie Help account, the studio will keep Trials offline until it finds a solution to the problem. It’s currently unclear how long this bug will take to fix, and Trials could be down for a week or more.

This downtime comes after a tumultuous reintroduction for Trials. The studio originally took Trials of the Nine away in the summer of 2018, and rebuilt it as the resurrected Trials of Osiris in March — with the same name and aesthetic as the original Destiny. But cheaters have plagued the mode for months, with Bungie still working on solutions.

We’ll update this post as Bungie offers more information on the mode-breaking bug.
