Emergency crews responded to two house fires in Windsor and Lakeshore early Saturday morning.

Two people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a fire in the 600 block of Old Tecumseh Road in Lakeshore. OPP, Lakeshore Fire Department and EMS responded to the call at 2:15 a.m.

A section of Old Tecumseh Road between Wallace Line and Country Road 22 was closed for more than six hours.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident should call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous online message at www.catchcrooks.com.

Working smoke alarms are being credited for there being no serious injuries from an overnight fire in the 500 block of Laforet Street in west Windsor. Fire officials say the tenant was alerted to the danger and self evacuated. They were treated for minor smoke inhalation.

Windsor Fire and Rescue responded with multiple units to a call at 3:15 a.m. Crews found a fully involved blaze that spread to a home in the 3200 block of Baby Street. Investigators were on the scene to determine a cause.

They estimated damage to the Laforet Street home at $150,000 and damage to the Baby Street home also at $150,000.
