An additional staff member at the Garry J. Armstrong long-term care facility has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the current total to five, the City of Ottawa announced Friday evening.

There are no active cases of COVID-19 involving residents of the facility on Porter’s Island, said a memo from Donna Gray, the city’s general manager of community and social services.

Two of the other three city-operated long-term care homes are also on outbreak status, the memo added: three staff at the Peter D. Clark facility in Nepean, plus four staff and one resident at Centre d’accueuil Champlain in Vanier.
