It was Heat wicketkeeper-batsman Jimmy Peirson who stole the show in Chris Lynn’s absence, blasting 69 from just 36 balls.
But it wasn’t enough as the Strikers held on to win by two runs with the final ball thriller certainly not forgotten by cricket fans across Australia.
The Strikers have regained Travis Head after the conclusion of the Australia Test summer, with the left-hander a certainty to slot back into the side.
The Heat have a number of big inclusions with Mitch Swepson and Marnus Labuschagne returning.
The match begins at 7.15pm AEDT.
